Our laboratory has been founded in 2001, belongs to Graduate School of Life and
Environmental Sciences, Kyoto Prefectural University (KPU)
, and is also a part of
Basic Research Division, Kyoto Prefectural Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology (KAB).
The laboratory locates Seika town, Kyoto Prefecture. The town is about 40 km south of
Kyoto city and is near to Nara city.
The laboratory shares the same building with Laboratory of Genetic Engineering, KPU,
Laboratory of Plant Resources, KPU, and Applied Research Division, KAB.

Current Research Project

The main object of our lab is genome analysis of plants. The obtained results will be applicable to
development of DNA markers for marker-assisted selection in breeding and genetic studies of
cultivated and wild plants.

1. Genetic analysis of clubroot-resistant loci in Brassica rapa [PubMed Abstract] [PubMed Abstract]
2. Construction of linkage map and genetic analysis of powdery mildew resistance in cucumber [PubMed Abstract]
3. Construction of linkage map and genetic analysis of radish [Journal Homepage]
4. Breeding and genetic analysis of local sweet pepper cultivar [Journal Homepage]
5. Analysis of genetic diversity in wild and ornamental plants
6. Gene structure and the evolution of plant organelles (Assoc. Prof. Kubo)
7. Molecular basis of plant architecture (Assis. Prof. Takeda)
